2024 Classes

My name is Thony Aiuppy. I have been an educator in Northeast Florida for over 10 years.

I have taught at public schools, summer camps, museums, and colleges.

I love teaching art. It makes me come alive working with students and seeing their abilities grow.

So I’m starting my own art teaching business.

The dates will be rolling out in the 4-6 weeks.

I will be offering the following for students K-12 and lifelong (adult) learners:

– private at instruction (one-on-one)

– group art instruction (for up to approx. 12 students)

– portfolio development for art magnet applicants (LaVilla & Douglas Anderson)

– portfolio development for college/university applicants

Fall course offerings will include:

– Grades K-5 Group Art Instruction – Foundational Art Practice.

Students will learn the materials, methods and techniques used by artists across time. Students will learn not only how to make art, but will learn the building blocks of how the elements of art and principles of design work together to enhance the student’s artistic and creative skills.

In this course, students learn idea generation, some basic observation skills, experiment with painting, drawing, collage, and sequential art (comics). Students will gain exposure to a variety of artists from the past and present.

– Grades 6-8 Group Art Instruction – Intermediate Art Practice.

Students will expand their knowledge of materials, methods, and techniques. During class, students will build on their observational drawing and painting skills. Students will look at historical and contemporary painting, drawing, and illustration to better understand how to render the figure. Students will then take those learned skills and create new, original artworks.

In this course, students learn idea generation skills as they keep a sketchbook, practice observational from life and photo reference, experiment with color theory and color mixing, and create original artworks in oil pastel, acrylic painting, and various drawing materials.
